Bio

Cynthia Woodman Kerkham has published in most Canadian literary journals and won awards including The Malahat Review’s Open Season Award and the Federation of BC Writers Contest as well as Honorable Mention in the Bliss Carmen Award. Her poems ride BC Transit, and one of them, “Burnt Pot, Riverbank, Indifferent Sky”, placed as a top-five finalist for the CBC Literary Prize. She’s the author of a collection of poetry Good Holding Ground (Palimpsest Press, 2011) and co-editor of the poetry anthology Poems from Planet Earth (Leafpress, 2013). Cynthia is a writer, teacher and editor in Victoria, BC who has been known to write poems for passersby.
